VIDEO: Eruption of Volcano in Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula

A volcanic eruption has begun in Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula due to an earthquake. According to TASS, this has been reported by RUV, citing data from the Icelandic Meteorological Office.

The eruption started this morning near the town of Grindavik in southwestern Iceland. A state of emergency has been declared in the region.

According to RUV, residents of Grindavik were evacuated last night. Footage is being shared online.
