The Ministry of Emergency Situations continues its patrols and standby operations on the republic's highways. This was reported by the rescue service.

Due to snowfall, the rescue service units are carrying out round-the-clock patrols and standby operations in hazardous areas to provide proper assistance to vehicles and citizens trapped in traffic jams. They are also offering relevant help at the previously established first-aid points by providing hot food and heating supplies.

The fire and rescue units continue to operate at three checkpoints on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, as well as in the vicinity of Kuchak and Tsilkar villages in Aragatsotn Province, and in the communities of Gorayk, Shinhuhair, and Agvani in Syunik Province, near the 161st km of the Yerevan-Meghri highway, and at the 7th km of the Dilijan-Yerevan highway.

From January 10 to 12, numerous calls were received at the National Crisis Management Center regarding vehicles trapped in snow in various cities, including Yerevan, Sevan, Jermuk, Vayk, Hrazdan, and Aparan, as well as in the villages of Jrvazh, Fantan, Gorayk, Spandaryan, Gohtanik, Karmrashen, and Alagyaz. The traffic areas affected include the Yerevan-Sevan, Aparan-Kayk, Vanadzor-Stepanavan, Saravan-Zanger, Tatev-Ltsen-Sisian, and Goris-Tatev highways.

In these areas, rescuers have freed 137 vehicles from blockades and provided assistance to 182 citizens.
