VIDEO: The Closure of the 'Goy' Theater Has Political Motives, Protesters Claim
The creative team of the 'Goy' Theater is currently gathered in front of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports. They are demanding that their theater not be dissolved or merged with another theater.
The theater employees have been informed that today, the newly appointed director Karen Simonian will sign a document at the ministry, which would lead to the merger of the 'Goy' Theater with the Sundukyan National Academic Theater.
‘They have not created anything until today and are only busy demolishing. The 'Goy' Theater is just another target for their destruction. We want to create independently in our homeland. That theater is our home, and we are not ready to give up our home; we have no place to retreat,’ said director Arthur Sahakyan in an interview with reporters.
Protesters note that the closure of the 'Goy' Theater has political motives.
