Man Enters Building, Begins to Shout and Swear: Spokesperson on Reports of Stabbing by Stepanavan Mayor
Recently, lawyer Alexander Kochubaev made a post stating that the Stepanavan mayor associated with the ruling party attempted to cut the throat of a citizen who approached the mayor with a personal matter using a knife.
To clarify the circumstances of the incident, MediaHub contacted the public relations department of the municipality, where we were assured that no such incident had been registered at the mayor's office. Furthermore, press secretary Armine Balayan responded with laughter, questioning how a stabbing incident could be recorded in the mayor's office.
In response to our observation that Kochubaev mentioned in his post that the victim had approached the police, Balayan replied that an incident did occur: a man entered the municipality building, began to shout and swear, and was subsequently asked to leave to restore the normal functioning of the mayor's office.
When asked who was responsible for escorting the citizen out, and whether the mayor was among those who did so, the response indicated that the mayor and the citizen had not even met. As for the demands of the citizen who attempted to approach the mayor, the media contact was unaware.
It should be noted that Alexander Kochubaev stated that the citizen had gone to the municipality to obtain a disability certificate.
