We Will Fully Transition to Electronic Prescriptions. Citizens Must Go to Pharmacies with Passports - Avanesyan

In 2023, only state centrally procured medicines have fully transitioned to electronic prescriptions, and this year the process will continue, and we will completely move away from paper prescriptions by the end of the year. This was stated today by Armenia's Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a press conference.

"There is no issue regarding citizens' access to electronic tools. The doctor issues the prescription in electronic format, and pharmacies are connected to the system. The citizen approaches the pharmacy with an identification document, the pharmacy accesses the electronic prescription, and dispenses the medication. There is no need for additional actions from the citizen. All pharmacies are connected to the system, and all mechanisms are in place. We are already issuing prescriptions in an experimental way. By mid-year, we will completely transition to electronic prescriptions," Avanesyan said.
