Did Tiran Khachatryan Fire Shots? What Happened in Kotayk
Gunfire erupted at one of the restaurants in the village of Aramus, Kotayk Province, resulting in injuries to a 47-year-old man. The press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported to the media that on January 11 at 23:00, they received a notification about a dispute occurring in the village of Aramus. Half an hour later, the Abovyan Medical Center reported that a man born in 1977 had been admitted to the hospital.
There are circulating rumors on the internet that one of the participants in the incident is also the former deputy chief of the General Staff, Tiran Khachatryan. According to information obtained by ArmLur.am, Tiran Khachatryan has been arrested.
It is noted that during a celebration at a restaurant near 'Erik,' a dispute occurred among about ten individuals, during which Tiran Khachatryan, allegedly using a personally awarded weapon, fired shots. Among those involved in the incident was a resident of Artsakh, Hrayer Mnacakanyan, who lives in the village of Akunk. He was transported to the hospital with injuries.
According to preliminary reports received by the media, Khachatryan fired the shots using a weapon awarded by the former Minister of Defense, Davit Tonoyan, who is currently held in isolation by the NSS.
The Investigative Committee informed Auroranews that such an incident occurred, there is a victim, and a criminal case has been initiated under several provisions of the Criminal Code. 'A preliminary investigation is being conducted to clarify the circumstances of the incident and the participants involved. Active measures are being taken. However, at this moment, providing additional information regarding this case does not serve the interests of the preliminary investigation. Information on this matter will be published later,' the Investigative Committee stated.
