Blizzard, Fog, and Snow: Impassable Roads
The rescue service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads leading from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn region to the Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed.
The Vardenyats Pass is closed to trucks. The road from the Jermuk intersection to Sisian is closed to trucks with trailers. There is black ice present on some roads in the Syunik region.
Snow is falling in the cities of Tsaghkadzor and Vardenis, as well as in the regions of Amasia and Ashotsk, on the Gorayk-Zanger and Tatev-Ltsen-Sisian road sections and in the village of Shinuhayr.
In an area called "Meghri Mountain," a blizzard is occurring. There is fog on the Vardenyats Pass, between 15-30 km on the Yerevan-Sevan road, and in the Ashtarak region.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of transport.
It should be noted that due to road renovation works, the M-6 highway near the 38-40 km section from Vanadzor to Alaverdi will be closed to buses and trucks with trailers or semi-trailers until February 15. A detour will operate through the city of Noyemberyan.
