Allegations of Tiran Khachatryan's Drunken Disorderly Conduct are False, Says Lawyer

Reports circulating in the media suggesting that Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan has fled or hidden from investigation are untrue, false, and aim to negatively impact General Khachatryan's reputation. This was stated by lawyer Varazdat Harutyunyan, who has taken on the defense of Tiran Khachatryan, on his Facebook page.

‘At the time of the arrest, General Khachatryan was with me; we were about to leave and present ourselves to the police department. The information that Tiran Khachatryan committed disorderly conduct while intoxicated is also a falsehood. In order not to harm the pre-investigation process, we will refrain from public statements regarding the details of the case at this stage, but we assure you that the investigation will reveal that Tiran Khachatryan did not commit any disorderly act. For now, we will limit ourselves to this statement and kindly ask not to request further comments from us. If necessary, we will present additional information ourselves, based on the public resonance of the case,’ the lawyer wrote.
