A Byzantiine Art Department to be Established at the Louvre, Including Armenia

The Louvre is preparing to establish a department dedicated to Byzantine art and Eastern Christianity, which will also include Armenia. This was announced by Olivier Decottignies, France's ambassador to Armenia, on his Twitter page.
“The Louvre is preparing to create a department dedicated to Byzantine art and Eastern Christianity, which will also include Armenia. The Louvre, with 9.6 million visitors annually, is the most visited museum in the world. Moreover, in Armenia, the Louvre is supporting the redevelopment of the Erebuni Museum,” wrote the ambassador.
