Vardan Ghukasian's Membership in the 'Public Voice' Party Terminated

Vardan Ghukasian's membership in the 'Public Voice' party has been terminated. This was announced by the governing council of the 'Public Voice' party.

The statement mentions that on January 9, 2024, a meeting of the governing council of the 'Public Voice' party took place. During the meeting, it was revealed that party council member Vardan Ghukasian is also a citizen of the Russian Federation, registered in Kaliningrad, Russia.

According to point 3.8.5 of the party's charter, membership is terminated upon acquiring citizenship of another state. On this basis, the governing council deemed Vardan Ghukasian's membership in the party to be terminated.

The governing council also informs that the membership of an additional 11 council members has been terminated based on their own applications.

Furthermore, the governing council of the 'Public Voice' party, considering the reports spread in the media, has informed citizens and party members that there is no decision to convene an extraordinary congress, and no such congress will be held on January 19.

The meeting called by the individual named Vardan Ghukasian on January 19 at the Mariott hotel is illegal and has no connection with the 'Public Voice' party. We also appeal to the law enforcement agencies of Armenia to stop the illegal gathering referred to as a congress, which has been called unlawfully in the name of the 'Public Voice' party.

It is emphasized that the individual named Vardan Ghukasian has no political connection to either the 'Public Voice' party or the faction operating in the Yerevan city council, and neither the party members nor the council have any obligation to follow his instructions or directives, nor to provide him with information regarding the activities of the Yerevan city hall.
