Tigran Avinyan's Issue is Not Yet Resolved: 'Hraparak'
'Hraparak' newspaper reports that the 'Mother Armenia' faction of the Yerevan City Council is legally challenging the legitimacy of Tigran Avinyan's assumption of mayoral powers. This was highlighted by 'Hraparak' daily.
It is noted that this assumption of powers took place in the absence of a quorum in the council. The opposition, through a court application, demands the organization of a new swearing-in ceremony in accordance with the law; otherwise, Avinyan's decisions will be considered null and void.
'Mother Armenia' faction member Samvel Hakobyan specifically filed a lawsuit with the administrative court, but the court did not accept the case for consideration. This decision was appealed in the appellate court. Recently, the Appellate Court has decided that the Administrative Court must accept the presented lawsuit for consideration. If the court makes a just ruling, then all decisions and orders signed by Tigran Avinyan until now, including the decision on increasing fees for red-lined parking areas, will be revoked,' the newspaper writes.
