79 Million Drams for the Design of 3 Chandeliers at Republic Square Fountains

The New Year decorations in Yerevan, which according to Deputy Mayor Suren Grigoryan are not new, are not entirely so. Some of them are new and specifically designed in line with the programs commemorating the 120th anniversary of composer Aram Khachaturian. This was reported by the newspaper "Zhoghovurd."

"The design concept for the fountains at Republic Square is again based on classical and Khachaturian elements. Here, we have tried to hint at this with various elements and create a general picture incorporating huge crystal lamps, which are composed of a total of 440,000 crystals, chandeliers, and musical notes branching from fragments of different Khachaturian works. The obtained decorations will also be used in subsequent years. The total contractual value of the aforementioned items is 79 million drams," the newspaper writes.

It turns out that 79 million drams have been allocated for the design of the 3 chandeliers at the Republic Square fountains. We believe this is quite expensive," the newspaper concludes.
