Which Roads Are Closed and Impassable

The rescue service informs that there are closed and impassable roads within the territory of Armenia.

Until February 15, due to road reconstruction works, the M-6 highway segment between Vanadzor and Alaverdi (approximately 38-40 km) will be closed for buses and freight trucks with trailers or semi-trailers. An alternative route will operate through the town of Noyemberyan.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the 'Amberd' high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kari are closed.

The Vardenyats Pass is difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers (it is advised to use snow chains).

The Sisian-Zanger road has spots with black ice. Snow is present in the Vardenyats Pass, as well as in the regions of Jermuk, Kajaran, and in the areas known as Saravan-Zanger, Sisian-Zanger, and 'Meghru Sar.'

Regarding the Lars road, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia's Emergency Management Department and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations' Crisis Management Center for North Ossetia, the stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for trucks. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
