The situation in Ecuador is deteriorating hour by hour. At least 14 civilians, police officers, and prison guards have been killed and subjected to executions during clashes with criminal gangs.

Footage has surfaced on social media showing criminals shooting and hanging prison guards. Meanwhile, Argentina has announced its readiness to send security forces to Ecuador to help restore order amid the unrest. Peru has also ordered the immediate deployment of special police forces along the border with Ecuador.
