Why is the Opening of the Mother Cathedral of Echmiadzin Delayed? - 'Hraparak'

Although the renovation works of the Mother Cathedral of Echmiadzin were planned to be completed in 2022, the opening did not take place in 2023 either, and the blessing of the holy muron, scheduled for October 1, 2023, was also postponed. This is reported by the newspaper 'Hraparak'.

“The delay has been explained by the events occurring in Artsakh. It has already been seven years since the Mother Cathedral has been under renovation, and all ceremonies are being held in other churches. Our source from the Mother See believes that the opening of the Mother Cathedral and the blessing of the holy muron could take place in spring, but that is merely a conjecture. We tried to clarify with Father Isaak, the head of the information system of the Mother See, when they plan to carry out these important religious events. The Father replied that they will announce the deadlines soon,” reports the newspaper.
