Video: Fire in Baku Claims Lives of 4 Newborns

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the management unit of medical territorial subdivisions have jointly released information regarding a fire that broke out at the Republican Perinatal Center in Baku. This has been reported by Azerbaijani media.

Preliminary investigations revealed that three people were hospitalized in the toxicology department of a clinical medical center due to smoke poisoning. They received necessary medical services, and their condition is assessed as stable.

In the neonatal intensive care unit of the center, the bodies of four children undergoing treatment were discovered. A criminal case has been initiated by the investigative department of the Prosecutor General's Office regarding the incident.

The fire at the Republican Perinatal Center in Baku has been extinguished, and evacuation of patients is underway. This information was provided to the media by Azerbaijan's State Fire Service.

It was noted that at the time of the fire, there were 90 patients in the perinatal center.
