The Statue is Very Characteristic and Descriptive: Andreasyan on the Parajanov Statue
As part of the events marking the 100th anniversary of Sergei Parajanov, a statue of the renowned filmmaker was unveiled today, January 9, near the Cinema House (sculptor: Ara Alekyan). Among those present at the inauguration ceremony were the head of the Prime Minister's staff, Araik Harutyunyan, and Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan.
Speaking about the Parajanov statue, Minister Andreasyan stated, "The statue is very characteristic and descriptive. I must note that our broader vision is to have a star park in the yard of the Cinema House, to place the statue there, and to name the square. We have submitted a proposal to the city hall to name the square in front of where the Parajanov statue will be placed as Pomegranate Color Square."
