South Korean Police Arrest 20 Student Activists

South Korean police have arrested 20 student activists for attempting to illegally enter the grounds of the presidential office complex in Seoul. This was reported by the Yonhap news agency, with information provided by TASS.

The arrested individuals were members of the 'Progressive Union of Korean Universities.' According to police, they attempted to access the complex in the Yeonsan district through a gate and a fence.

Prior to this, they held a protest demanding a special investigation into the First Lady over suspicions of manipulating securities and called for meetings with officials from the administration. The police plan to ascertain the activists' intentions.

The South Korean parliament, where the opposition holds the majority, previously passed a bill to conduct an investigation into the First Lady, which the president vetoed.
