High Readiness Mode Imposed Due to Freezing Temperatures in Russia

The city of Elista, the capital of Kalmykia, has established a high readiness mode in response to the anticipated freezing temperatures. This was reported by Mayor Shafran Tepshinov. The information is conveyed by RIA Novosti.

“A 'high readiness' mode has been introduced in Elista, which is why municipal services are operating in an enhanced mode. Duty brigades and emergency reserves have been formed,” Tepshinov stated on his Telegram channel following a meeting with heads of municipal companies that addressed the sharp drop in temperatures expected next week.

According to the Russian Hydro-Meteorological Center, temperatures in Elista are expected to reach up to 8 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday, with forecasts indicating a drop to -2 degrees Celsius starting Monday. On Wednesday night, the thermometer could plummet to -13 degrees Celsius.
