Blizzard, Snow, Black Ice: Road Conditions

As of January 6 at 9:40 AM, there are patches of black ice in the regions of Goris, Gavar, Sevan, Abovyan, Talin, Artik, Akhuryan, Aparan, Tumanyan, the mountain passes of Saravan and Vardenyats, and along the Tigranashen-Jangakatun highway. This was reported by the Road Department Foundation.

In the 'Zanger' area of Sisian, there is fog with visibility at 50 meters. Blizzard conditions have been recorded in both the 'Zanger' area of Sisian and the Aparan region. Due to the snowstorm, the Vardenyats pass is impassable for vehicles with trailers.

All other interstate and national roads are open. The road construction teams are carrying out cleaning and salt-sand treatment operations on the roads. To avoid accidents, incidents, and traffic jams, drivers are advised to use winter tires exclusively.
