Will Public TV Broadcast the Christmas Liturgy Despite Disagreements?

Public Television will broadcast the Christmas liturgy conducted by the Catholicos of All Armenians, Garegin II, on the morning of January 6. This was reported to Tert.am by Anna Ohanian, the head of the public relations department at First Channel.

The public broadcaster informed that the schedule for the liturgy is already available on their website. It should be noted that an unprecedented debate had begun between Public Television and the Mother See regarding the non-broadcasting of Garegin II's New Year address.

The Mother See had announced at the end of the year that this time, Public Television, at the last minute and without any explanation, had communicated that the Venerable Father's New Year address would not be broadcast before midnight, as was traditionally accepted. Instead, it was proposed to present the Catholicos’ address during the evening news segment, which was not deemed appropriate by the Mother See and was rejected.

In response, Public Television clarified that it was the Mother See that requested not to broadcast the Catholicos's address.
