Italian Prime Minister Highlights the Only Possible Diplomatic Solution to the Russia-Ukraine Conflict
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated during a press conference dedicated to the results of 2023 that the path to a peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict lies in maintaining a balance of power on the battlefield. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Meloni emphasized the necessity of continuing to send weapons to Ukraine, despite concerns from those who speak about escalating the conflict.
"The only possible way to reach any negotiation table or achieve a diplomatic solution is to maintain a balance of power on the ground," said the Italian Prime Minister.
Previously, the American publication The National Interest reported that Russian forces aim to defeat the Ukrainian Armed Forces through strategic assaults preferring overwhelming strength. Additionally, Russian troops are also creating stockpiles of weapons in anticipation of heavier clashes in 2024. In this context, Ukraine requires additional support from Western allies.
