There Is No Turning Back: Erdoğan

Turkey's foreign policy is focused on Turkey itself but has a global perspective, stated Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. This information has been reported by Turkish media.

“We have shaped our foreign policy, which is oriented towards Turkey, but with a global perspective, and there is no turning back,” Erdoğan said during a speech in Ankara.

According to Erdoğan, Turkey has “not paid attention to those instigating war, who have tried to drag the country into bloody conflicts both in the north and the south.”

“Despite the interference of third parties, which implied the opposite, we have worked to strengthen relations with our neighbors based on mutual benefit,” he noted.

“We have resolved the disagreements that arose between us and some regional countries and restored our cooperation to the level it should be. While reaching historic heights in our relations with the Turkic world, we have also worked on developing cooperation with Europe and the USA based on mutual respect,” Erdoğan added.

According to him, Turkey's relations with African and Latin American countries have already made progress, achieving new dimensions.

“We have never rejected the hand of friendship extended to our country,” he emphasized.
