The Armenian Word of the Year is Announced

The Language Committee has summarized the results of the "Word of the Year 2023" poll. Among the 12 nominated words, the term APRUMAKTZOOM received the highest votes, securing 42% of the total.

While sharing in the experiences of others has always been a unique human trait, the word aprumaktsum is a neologism. It was likely created in similarity to the word karec’tsum (sympathy), yet it encompasses a broader phenomenon.

The second place goes to the word KHAGHAKHTOON (peace), which received 30% of the votes. In third place, we have HAYASATH (Armenia) with 7%.
