Corrections to Be Made in the Controversial Armenian History Textbook

In the 7th grade textbook for the subject of Armenian History, 46 corrections will be made, and these will be presented to schools in the form of an insert. This was announced by Vahram Soghomonyan, the head of the working group for the textbook and the director of the Educational Foundation "Participatory School," during a press conference.

He noted that there will be 15 significant content adjustments, 13 minor changes, 13 corrections related to dates, and 5 spelling corrections. In addition to these corrections, the frequently discussed map of the Kingdom of Van will also be changed.

"That map was mistakenly placed due to time constraints and various circumstances. A newly developed map will be presented to our partners at the Erebuni Museum. The image of Ghazar Parpetsi will also be changed, as it is incorrectly placed," Soghomonyan stated.

It is worth recalling that for a long time, the 7th grade textbook of Armenian History authored by PhD Smbat Hovhannisyan has been actively debated and criticized in various professional circles.
