VIDEO: Greek Air Force Training Aircraft Crashes
A T-2 Buckeye training aircraft of the Greek Air Force has crashed near Kalamata Airport, located in the southern part of Peloponnese. The fate of the pilot remains unknown, as reported by Greece's public broadcaster ERT.
"The crash of the air force training aircraft occurred near the northern gate of Kalamata Airport at around 11:00 AM. It was a two-seat T-2 aircraft belonging to the 120th training squadron," the broadcaster stated.
According to reports, an explosion preceded the crash. It has been reported that there was one officer on the aircraft, and their fate is unknown. There has been no information indicating that anyone ejected with a parachute. Search operations for the pilot are currently ongoing.
