Wanted: Author of the Famous 'Masyanya' Cartoon

The author of the once-popular cartoon 'Masyanya,' Oleg Kuvaev, is wanted on criminal charges. This information is reported in the database of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In October, the Investigative Committee of Russia initiated a case against Kuvaev regarding public calls for activities that threaten the country's security. The basis for the criminal case was a new episode of 'Masyanya' that was published on Kuvaev's channel.

The specific charges leading to the wanted notice have not been disclosed. Kuvaev was recognized as a foreign agent last Friday, December 22. According to the Justice Ministry, he has 'expressed opposition to the special military operation in Ukraine, participated in fundraising events to support the Ukrainian armed forces,' and has also 'disseminated false information aimed at forming a negative image of the Russian Federation and the Russian Armed Forces.'
