Russian Army Achieves Main Objective of the Year: Shoigu

The Russian army has accomplished its main objective for 2023 by thwarting the Ukrainian counteroffensive. This was announced by Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu during a concluding select session. The information was reported by RIA Novosti.

“Last year, the main efforts were focused on achieving the goals of the special military operation. The primary one was to prevent the announced counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their NATO allies. This task has been successfully accomplished,” said the army general.

He emphasized that this success was achieved due to well-structured defensive lines, the reliability of equipment, and the decisive actions of the fighters.

Shoigu also noted that the Russian army is gaining more advantageous positions in the zone of the special military operation and expanding the territories under its control.
