In Such Cases, Criminal Charges Should Be Filed: Arsen Torosyan
Reports have emerged in the media regarding the unfortunate death of a young woman due to rabies stemming from a dog bite. This was stated by MP Arsen Torosyan on his Facebook page.
“Rabies is a contagious disease that is transmitted to other animals or humans through the saliva of dogs or other carnivores. In the case of a human being bitten by an animal, rabies can be treated, or rather prevented, through vaccination. I believe that criminal charges should be filed in such cases to investigate whether the woman received appropriate medical assistance or not. It is especially important to clarify whether she was vaccinated after the dog bite,” he wrote.
“If she was not vaccinated, then why? Was there a rabies vaccine available at the medical facility, and if not, why? It should also be clarified whether the relevant sanitary and epidemic authorities were properly informed about the incident, and if not, then why?”
Note: The issue of stray dogs has been discussed extensively recently, and it is evident that this must also be addressed, with communities needing to invest additional resources to resolve this issue quickly and definitively,” the MP added.
