Will the Gas Tariff Change in Armenia in 2024? "Gazprom Armenia" Clarifies
"Gazprom Armenia" will not apply to the Public Services Regulatory Commission to raise the gas tariff for 2024. This was reported to Sputnik Armenia by the company’s CEO, Ashot Hakobyan.
He recalled that an additional agreement has been signed with Gazprom, which confirms the current gas price for Armenia at the border, set at $165 per 1,000 cubic meters. According to Hakobyan, the factors influencing pricing within the country have also not changed significantly.
It is worth noting that earlier, Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan also assured that there will be no change in gas prices.
To recall, on April 1, 2022, the gas price for ordinary consumers in Armenia increased by 4.7 drams, from 139 drams to 143.7 drams. However, socially vulnerable consumers are exempt from this increase, as the government subsidies have kept their gas price unchanged at 100 drams per cubic meter.
The deadline for reviewing the gas tariff is established as April 1 each year, based on the rationale that the heating season in Armenia ends in April.
