Ministry of Foreign Affairs Comments on Armenia’s Joining the 'Magnitsky European List' Rumors

Yesterday, a statement was released on behalf of Josep Borrell, the head of the EU's foreign policy service, indicating that Armenia had joined the 'Magnitsky European List.' However, the statement was later edited and Armenia's name was removed from the list.

Aysor.am requested a comment from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, seeking clarification on whether Armenia has indeed joined this list or not.

Ms. Ani Badalyan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated, “Based on external political priorities and within the framework of cooperation with the EU, Armenia often considers and joins EU statements, showing its support and solidarity on the issues raised in them. Specifically, regarding the EU Council's decision on restrictive measures of December 4 (2023/2721), Armenia has not joined, as also evident from the EU Council's December 17 statement.”
