We are indeed paying close attention to this: Peskov
The Kremlin is closely monitoring the parliamentary elections in Serbia, and Russia welcomes the success of the country's incumbent president Aleksandar Vučić's party. This was announced to journalists by Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. The information is reported by TASS.
Earlier, the republican electoral commission announced that the coalition "Aleksandar Vučić - Serbia Must Not Stop" continues to lead the country's parliamentary elections, with 47.21 percent of the votes processed from 91.6 percent of the ballot papers.
“We are indeed paying close attention to this. It is exclusively Serbia's internal affair, for us, a friendly Serbia, a brotherly Serbia. We certainly welcome Mr. Vučić's such success. We hope that this will contribute to the further development of the republic. Of course, we expect that the strengthening of our friendship and the trajectory of our mutually beneficial and respectfully cooperative relations will continue,” Peskov said.
