Ready to Reactivate Istanbul Process If Requested by Parties: Erdogan
Turkey is ready to reactivate the Istanbul process for the resolution of Ukraine. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The information was reported by RIA Novosti.
“We emphasize the necessity of paying attention to the diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Ukraine. We are ready to once again activate the partially completed Istanbul process if requested by the parties,” Erdogan announced during a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin had stated that issues regarding Ukraine's demilitarization were agreed upon during negotiations held in Istanbul in March 2022, but “after that, those agreements were thrown into the stove,” and now the question can either be negotiated or resolved through force.
