In the Ivanovo region, five schoolchildren have fallen into a pit filled with boiling water and have been hospitalized with severe burns, according to Shot.

The students were walking when the pavement collapsed beneath their feet. As reported by SHOT, all five sustained serious burns while trying to save each other. They are currently hospitalized.

This morning, the children were on their way to school when they fell into a pit caused by a malfunction in the heating main in the city of Yuzha. The prosecutor's office is investigating the cause of the incident.
