Iran Ready to Support Armenia and Azerbaijan in Ensuring Regional Security

Iran welcomes the joint statement by Armenia and Azerbaijan and is prepared to contribute to strengthening regional stability. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanani during a press briefing.

"Iran welcomes the joint statement by Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding reciprocal actions and cooperation, including the release of prisoners by both sides. We consider this a positive development," he stated.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that achieving lasting peace requires the strengthening of peaceful rhetoric and an atmosphere of trust among the regional parties, expressing hope that these measures will lead to peace and stability.

Kanani assured that Iran is ready to support both countries in ensuring regional peace and security.

Recall that on December 7, the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan issued a joint statement, which mentioned that Azerbaijan would release 32 Armenian servicemen, while Armenia would release 2 Azerbaijani servicemen in return.
