EU Not Planning to Train Armenian Soldiers, Says EU Representative

The European Union is not planning to conduct joint military exercises or train Armenian servicemen in Yerevan. This was stated by Peter Stano, the official spokesperson of the EU foreign policy service, in an interview with Izvestia.

“The EU does not consider the possibility of conducting joint military exercises with Armenia. The EU is not a military alliance but a political and economic community,” Stano said. He noted that the European Union also does not plan to train Armenian armed forces personnel within the territories of EU member states.

At the same time, he mentioned that the EU is exploring the possibility of providing support to the Armenian army through the European Peace Facility in a
