Former Residents of Artsakh Can Apply for Pensions in Armenia Starting Today

Individuals who were receiving pensions in Artsakh can apply to receive them in Armenia starting today. This information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia.

It was previously reported that, based on a decision from the Armenian government, if a forcibly displaced person from Artsakh applies to the competent authority in Armenia for pension eligibility within three months starting from December 11, they will receive their pension from October 1, 2023.

In order to apply for pension designation (including employment, disability, military, and social pensions), the ministry urges applicants to follow these steps:

1. First, it is necessary to visit the regional passport divisions of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to register at your place of residence (or on a factual or permanent basis).
2. Go to the online platform at online.ssa.am and select the "Online Applications for Artsakh Pension" window by clicking on the "Enter Application for Artsakh Pension in the Republic of Armenia" section.
3. If you do not yet have a personal account on the platform, you need to register in advance by clicking on the "Registration" window at the top right of the website. You will then fill in the required fields with your email address, first name, last name, patronymic, date of birth (day, month, year), password, and indicate whether you are a citizen of Armenia or not. After completing these steps, you need to click the "Register" button. After registration, you will receive a message in your email that, once confirmed, will allow you to use the site.
4. After completing the previous steps, click on the "Enter Application for Artsakh Pension in the Republic of Armenia" button, enter your email address and password, and then you will be able to fill in the required information such as name, last name, date of birth, identification document number, phone number, and payment method (cash or non-cash).

The ministry also notes that only individuals who are 75 years old or older, as well as those with first or second group disabilities, can choose cash payments and the preferred bank for pension payments.

"After filling in the required information, you must give consent in the field stating: 'I am informed about the responsibility for the illegal collection, storage, use, or dissemination of information about personal or family life in accordance with Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia,' and then click on the 'Create' button," the agency emphasized.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia also informs that the system will notify applicants immediately about the approval or rejection of their application through the relevant message displayed on the screen. Additionally, if applicants face difficulties entering their information, they should call 114 or contact any regional center of the Unified Social Service.
