Putin Confident That No One Can Call Russia a 'Gas Station' Anymore
Vladimir Putin is confident that no one can call Russia a 'gas station' anymore. He made this statement during the VTB forum titled 'Russia Calls'.
He emphasized that the so-called main non-resource industries are increasingly occupying a larger share of Russia's economic growth structure. These include manufacturing, transport, logistics, construction, information technology, communications, housing, and communal services.
'Only 2 percent has come from mining. Now let someone say that Russia is a gas station, as some recently attempted to do,' said the President of Russia.
Earlier, the Russian President stated that the country is transforming from a 'gas station' into a self-sufficient entity with a manufacturing sector. According to him, this now constitutes 43 percent of the economic structure.
Putin highlighted the importance of a sovereign state, noting that the economy must be self-sufficient in key components, allowing the country not only to survive but also to move forward.
