Netanyahu Threatens Lebanon with Gaza's Fate
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has once again threatened Beirut and southern Lebanon with the fate of the Gaza Strip if the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah decides to engage in a large-scale war with Israel, reports RIA Novosti.
“If Hezbollah decides to start a comprehensive war, it will turn Beirut and Southern Lebanon, which are not far from here, into Gaza,” the Prime Minister said during a meeting with reserve units of the Israeli army in the north of the country.
During his visit to the north, Netanyahu was accompanied by Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces Herzi Halevi. The Prime Minister's office reported that they assessed the security situation along the Lebanese border and spoke with reserve troops of infantry and artillery units serving in the area.
