Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Denies Marukyan's Statement
The Armenian Foreign Ministry has announced that there is no agreement for a meeting between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by the Ministry's spokesperson Ani Badalyan in response to a question from "Azatutyun" regarding whether there was a specific agreement for the ministers' meeting in Washington and if Azerbaijan is now refusing to participate.
“If there is an agreement for a meeting, we inform accordingly,” said Badalyan.
It is noteworthy that the day before, the special representative Edmon Marukyan stated that Azerbaijan had accepted an invitation from the United States for a meeting at the level of foreign ministers in January. However, the spokesperson for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Aykan Hajizade, insisted that there is no agreement regarding the location and date of the upcoming ministers' meeting.
