Gas Cylinder Explodes in One of Yerevan's Houses, Injuries Reported
A gas cylinder has exploded in one of the houses on Vshthunu Street in Yerevan, resulting in a fire. The information was reported by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The alert about the incident was received on December 6 at 09:40.
"Fire and rescue workers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene. It was determined that a 20 kg gas cylinder was leaking in the house's kitchen, leading to gas accumulation that resulted in an explosion and a fire. Residents A.U.D. (born in 1994) and B.Sh. (born in 1993) sustained burns to their hands. The injured were hospitalized at a medical center, where they received appropriate medical care and were discharged," the statement read.
The fire was contained by 09:52 and extinguished by 10:26. The leaked gas from the cylinder burned, along with 3 square meters of kitchen furnishings, while the outer wall of the kitchen (3 square meters) and the interior wall (2 square meters) collapsed.
