Armenian Side to Benefit from Iranian Ports
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia informs that Deputy Minister Narek Teryan, during his visit to Tehran, met with Ali Akbar Safaei, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Executive Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran. Armenian Trade Attaché to Iran Vardan Kostanyan also attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on Armenian-Iranian relations, particularly issues related to cargo transportation between the two countries. Both sides emphasized that Armenia can become a transit country for Iran to the EAEU and European countries, while Iran can serve as a route for Armenia to the Persian Gulf, Central Asian countries, and India.
The Iranian side expressed its readiness to provide favorable conditions for Armenian companies to use Iranian ports.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of understanding for sectorial cooperation, which will allow the Armenian side to utilize Iranian ports.
