Russia's Central Bank to Prohibit Employees from Using Apple Devices
The Central Bank of Russia will prohibit its employees from using American company Apple’s phones and tablets for official purposes starting December 25, and it will also cease purchasing these devices, according to TASS.
Elvira Nabiullina, the head of the Central Bank, has issued this directive. Similar reports have come from sources at RIA Novosti.
In June, the Federal Security Service of Russia accused Apple of infecting its devices with 'malicious software.'
The use of American company devices for official purposes has already been banned by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Education and Digital Development, as well as by Rostec. According to Kommersant, the same prohibition will be imposed by Rosatom.
Meanwhile, the head of Russian Railways, Oleg Belozerov, has promised not to prohibit employees from using Apple devices.
