"Dear Nikol, run, run without looking back: delay is akin to death" - Saakashvili addresses Pashinyan
The former President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, has advised Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on his Facebook page to sever all ties with Russia as soon as possible.
“Russia has banned the import of almost all Armenian agricultural products and Armenian cognac. Well, among the Kremlin's leadership, those who enjoy Armenian cognac will not restrict themselves (following the embargo on Georgian wine, Kremlin's buffet freely treated Georgian journalists). But they couldn’t care less about the opinion of ordinary Russians. This ban should turn on all red lights for Pashinyan. Putin didn’t stop loving Armenian cognac, he stopped loving Pashinyan. And this embargo is yet another step to erode his power.”
“I want to repeat once again to the Prime Minister of Armenia: Dear Nikol, run, run faster, run without looking back from the CSTO, the Eurasian Union, run towards the European Union, NATO, towards new regional unions. But most importantly, step away from Russia, save yourself and the Armenian statehood. Putin resembles a bulldog: he bites and does not let go until he has clamped down with his teeth. Break free from this bite to survive. I am convinced it is not too late. And stop hesitating and swaying. Delay is akin to death,” Saakashvili wrote.
