Tamazyan's Actions to Hold Onto His Position by Force Complicate His Situation: MP from the RPA
Fourteen out of the twenty-seven members of the Alaverdi City Council have initiated a process of confidence withdrawal against the mayor Arkadi Tamazyan from the 'Living Country' party. This was stated by RPA faction MP Gevorg Papoyan on his Facebook page.
“Weeks ago, a completely different group of nine members, this time from the 'Living Country' faction, had initiated the no-confidence matter, but the session did not take place. Thus, it turns out that 23 out of the 27 council members have signed for Tamazyan’s dismissal, meaning that only 4 members of the council, including Tamazyan himself, trust him. In this context, Tamazyan’s actions to hold onto his position by force complicate his situation, and any potential illegal actions, namely disrupting the normal operations of the council and the municipality, should receive appropriate legal assessment,” wrote the RPA MP.
