Putin on Relations with Turkey

The relations with Turkey are at a good level, including in the energy sector, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated during the ceremony of presenting credentials at the Kremlin on Monday, as reported by РИА Новости.

“Russia's partnership with the Republic of Turkey is at a high level and is based on years of effective cooperation in various fields, and both sides are determined to further develop relations based on the principles of friendship, partnership, and mutual benefit. All key bilateral issues are on the agenda of our regular communications with President Erdoğan,” Putin said.

He emphasized that Russia is actively cooperating with Turkey in the energy sector. “I would especially like to note that Russian-Turkish cooperation in the energy field is indeed strategic. Rosatom continues to construct Turkey’s first nuclear power plant, Akkuyu. Close cooperation has been established in the gas sector within the framework of the operation of the Blue Stream and Turkish Stream pipelines. Work is underway to create a gas distribution hub in Turkey,” the president noted.

Putin also pointed out the development of cooperation with Turkey in other sectors. “We still have many other interesting projects, joint ventures, including in the fields of trade and high technologies,” added the Russian president.
