KP Deputy Gagik Melkonyan's Grandson Incident: The Ball is in the Court of Law Enforcement, 'Jhoghovurd'

The newspaper 'Jhoghovurd' reports that internal disagreements have emerged within the law enforcement system regarding the incident involving the grandson of KP Deputy Gagik Melkonyan. The issue arises from law enforcement officials blaming each other for the failure to timely detain Melkonyan's son and present him to the authorities.

According to information received, while the law enforcement agencies are engaged in an internal conflict over who did not take action regarding the case and failed to interrogate the suspect, one fact remains: the Deputy's grandson has not yet been questioned.

ArmLur.am previously reported that there has been an internal agreement to bring him in for questioning in the near future.

A stabbing incident occurred involving Gagik Melkonyan’s grandson at Yerevan’s College of Law and Management. It is reported that Melkonyan's grandson stabbed another student from the same institution.

According to exclusive information obtained by 'Jhoghovurd', there are witnesses to the incident who have provided fragmented details to the law enforcement officials indicating that Gagik Karen Melkonyan inflicted the injury on the other student.

Whether law enforcement will thoroughly investigate this case and hold the grandson of the KP Deputy accountable remains to be seen. The fact is, Gagik Melkonyan’s grandson has not been located as of now.

ArmLur.am learned that during questioning, the injured student informed authorities that he fell from a tree. However, arriving police officers determined that the injury was caused by student Gagik Karen Melkonyan, the Deputy's grandson. The Investigative Committee announced that a report had been received from the police on the evening of November 27 regarding the incident where a minor was injured at the educational institution.

A criminal case has been initiated under Article 171, Part 2, Point 4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The injured minor has been recognized as a victim, and a forensic medical examination has been ordered. An investigation is underway to clarify the circumstances.
