Iran Ready to Enhance Military Ties with Saudi Arabia

Iran has expressed its readiness to improve military relations with Saudi Arabia. This was announced by Major General Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, according to IRNA.

During a phone conversation between Bagheri and the Saudi Minister of Defense, they exchanged views on issues of mutual interest. Bagheri praised the efforts of the Saudi government in hosting an extraordinary summit of the leaders of the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

In turn, the Saudi defense minister welcomed the proposal to enhance cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries. The parties have invited each other to visit their respective countries.
