Biden's Latest Mistake: What He Confused This Time

US President Joe Biden confused the name of Chinese leader Xi Jinping during a public speech, mistakenly referring to him by the name of another well-known Chinese political figure.

“Here’s the problem, and I said this to Deng Xiaoping in the Himalayas, I said it to leaders around the world: 'Never bet against the Americans,'” Biden declared.

This is not the first time Biden has recounted his story of conversations in the foothills, having concluded most of his public speeches with it. However, according to reports, in this story, the US president's interlocutor has always been Chinese leader Xi Jinping.

Deng Xiaoping was a Chinese political leader who actually led the People's Republic of China from the late 1970s until the early 1990s. Biden, who was a senator at the time, met Xiaoping in 1979 as part of a delegation of American legislators.
