Yeraskh Again in the Spotlight
Members of the Lithuania-Armenia Friendship Group of the Lithuanian Parliament, visiting Armenia on a three-day trip accompanied by Arsen Torosyan, the head of the Armenia-Lithuania Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Armenia, visited border areas of the Yeraskh community in the Ararat region on November 29. This was reported by the press service of the National Assembly.
The MPs were welcomed by representatives of the European Union's observation mission. The EU observers presented the current situation in the Yeraskh border areas to the Lithuanian MPs. The observers guided the guests to the site where a metal smelting plant was to be built with Armenian-American investment. The construction work on the plant had been halted due to gunfire from Azerbaijani armed forces.
It is noteworthy that the EU civil observation mission has been stationed in Armenia since February 20, 2023. The mandate of the EU observation mission in Armenia is to monitor and report on developments in the border areas between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
